I no longer provide links to individual WSS kennels.
I made this decision after a breeder (not of WSS) was arrested and charged with animal cruelty while transporting 170 dogs in a tractor trailer. The dogs were in horrible condition, and two were dead in the trailer. The breeder's website was terrific, with lots of articles about health issues, inheritance of diseases, and the importance of training and of making your dog part of the family. The only clue that there might be something amiss was the birthdays of various dogs; this breeder apparently averaged about 2 litters a month. On the same day, I read about a successful breeder (again, not of WSS) and professional handler who left a litter of puppies in a pen to survive by eating each other. During the week, he just didn't look at them, and on the weekends, he went to shows as usual.
I decided that a link to a site was an implied endorsement of the breeder's practices, regardless of any disclaimers. I decided that I could not provide a link to anyone I had not personally visited, and that to provide only those links was to imply that I was some sort of inspector, which I am not.
A personal visit is the best way to determine whether a breeder's dogs are kept in conditions that satisfy you. Visit before you buy.
I have included a few links to some of the Welsh Springer Spaniel clubs and a few health related sites:
The Welsh Springer Spaniel Club of America
The Welsh Springer Spaniel Pedigree Engine
The Welsh Springer Spaniel Club UK
Welsh Springer Spaniel Club-Nederland
Canine Eye Registration Foundation
